Polypropylene earns its place as a lead material not despite being synthetic, but because of what that means in practice. The 48-strand construction creates a denser, rounder braid than standard rope—which is why it keeps its shape over years of daily use and feels so comfortable in your hand. OEKO-TEX certification goes beyond a basic materials check: every dye, treatment, and contact component is independently tested against strict human-health standards. So what you're handling every day—and what sits against your dog's coat—has been properly verified as safe, not just assumed to be.

Machine wash at 30° on a gentle cycle. Air dry flat — do not tumble dry. Avoid prolonged soaking. Hardware can be wiped with a damp cloth. Biothane collars can be rinsed clean with warm water.
